Towards the state’s southeast, in the Mark Twain National Forest, you’ll find a hidden gem of a camping spot that sees relatively little use. Get some exercise and see the Ozarks from a new perspective on the more than 20 miles of path. There is a lot of space for people to go out and enjoy the outdoors by hiking, biking, or riding horses. Picnics are enjoyable at any time of the year. There is a BBQ ring and picnic table at each of the campsites.

There is also, on a first-come, first-served basis, use of a pavilion equipped with a large rustic grill. Small streams can be found all around the region, and while they do give some decent fishing, they are more fun to float down in an inner tube. Most notably during the steamy summer months. Every campsite is spotless and carefully cared for. There are restrooms in the vicinity, but no potable water, so bring some with you. Every campsite has a fire pit and a picnic table.
