There is a pond where you can fish and then release your catch, as well as a catch-and-release pool and many playgrounds for the kids. Letchworth State Park, also known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” is located nearby, as are numerous wildlife-rich woods and boating lakes.

Located in the far western part of Catskill Forest Preserve, this campground is beautiful and rustic. More than 40 trailer and tent sites are scattered around the private lake and beach, and there are 25 miles of fantastic hiking trails in the area. There are two separate campgrounds here, separated by about three miles from one another

The lack of some of the more high-tech, modern conveniences found elsewhere makes for a fun and nostalgic throwback to traditional camping trips of yesteryear. Children between the ages of five and thirteen can participate in the Junior Naturalist Program, which provides games and activities that ends with each child receiving a brightly colored embroidered patch as a memento of their visit.
