Greenbrier Campground provides a peaceful setting along Little Pigeon River and is central to many area attractions in Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains. There are 120 RV sites with full hookups at Greenbrier, but tent camping here is something special.

The Fall Creeks Falls Park is a hidden gem for campers despite its confusing name. With 222 regular campsites, three backcountry campsites, and sixteen primitive campsites, it is one of the biggest camping areas in the state. Just how fantastic of a camping spot it is is evidenced by its enormous popularity.
The most impressive feature here are the falls of Fall Creek. The breathtaking depth of the drop, at 250 feet, will make you forget to breathe. It’s a great place to go bird watching or fishing. A golf course is available for those who bring their own clubs to the park. After a long day of exploring the outdoors, nothing beats kicking back at camp and gazing at the stars.

The Paris Landing / Kentucky Lakes KOA is a fantastic RV resort in northern Tennessee, located nearly two hours west of Nashville and just minutes from Kentucky Lake. The best time to visit the resort is between the months of March and December. Typical of KOA campgrounds, this one is well-equipped to accommodate families. This state park’s proximity to Chickamauga Lake makes it a fantastic getaway for swimmers and boaters. The 60mi lake is perfect for any water sport or outdoor activity you can think of, be it fishing, swimming, boating, or paddling. Its shores are a great place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while looking out over the water.
Bear Trace at Harrison Bay is a popular golf course in the area, and it was designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. There are 128 RV spots and 27 tent sites available at this campground. All the recreational vehicles have access to electricity and water. Tents and RVs are both acceptable forms of camping accommodations, so don’t worry about it.

The park at Natchez Trace is a wonderful spot to create cherished memories with loved ones. There are 206 tent sites and 5 cabins available at the park. For those who have a passion for horses, there is a wrangler site. There is a grill, fire ring, and table at each of these sites, but that’s about it.

The Townsend/Great Smokies KOA is another one of Tennessee’s best KOAs, and it’s located in a beautiful, natural setting. Cades Cove Campground is one of the best places to stay in the park if you plan on exploring the Great Smoky Mountains. However, the breathtaking views of the Cades Cove valley draw campers to this Tennessee site.
Explore the 11-mile loop road and stop at some of the historic landmarks along the way, like John Cable Grist Mill and John Oliver Cabin. It’s home to 159 camp sites, among the finest camping in a national park. You can park your 35-foot or 40-foot RV there, however there are no RV hookups but dump station is present.

A small campground in a remote area, Cosby Campground is relatively unknown to the general public. You’ll love the Cosby Campground if you personally dislike camping in places like Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which hosted over 11 million visitors in 2017.
Don’t assume the campsite’s relative isolation means it lacks scenic appeal; there’s plenty to do and see in the area around the Cosby. The hike up the 10.6-mile trail to Mt. Cammerer Fire Tower is not for the faint of heart. There are 157 campsites at the campground, and each one has its own fire pit and picnic table. If you’re looking for a greater challenge, backcountry camping is another option.

One of the most notable features of Great Smoky Mountains National Park is Elkmont Campground, which is the park’s largest campground. Elkmont Campground has over 200 sites and can accommodate trailers up to 32 feet and RVs up to 40 feet, but it fills up quickly so you should book in advance. It’s not only the campground closest to the action of Gatlinburg, but also the hub of national park activity. Campsites along Jakes Creek and Little River are some of the most popular in the campground.

Abram’s Creek is an isolated and peaceful area. There are only 16 campsites available in this park. RVs up to 12 feet in length will not fit in this lot. The campground access road has a tight turnaround and is not suitable for large vehicles.
Even though it has a more rural appearance, it has modern flush toilets and drinkable water. Any campers looking for convenience to Townsend’s shops, restaurants, and other services should stay at this campground. Fly-fishing enthusiasts flock to the park for its stellar reputation. It’s recommended that you hike the 8mi loop of Little Bottoms Trail to reach the nearby Abram’s Waterfall.
