The only camping option in Capitol Reef National Park is the Fruita Campground. It’s a more primitive campsite, with 64 RV and tent sites but no connections. However, the restrooms have both running water and flushing toilets. A charming, rustic campground that provides all the essentials for a pleasant stay, as well as access to all the amazing attractions of nearby national parks.

There is a fire pit and picnic table at each campground. Despite the lack of RV connections, campers can still use the water refill station and RV dump that are located near the A and B loop entrances. Moab KOA is an excellent starting point for road trips to the national parks in Utah. Canyonlands and Moab continue to be two of the most visited areas for extreme sports enthusiasts. Our focus will be on Watchman Campground, one of three in Zion National Park, because of its proximity to the park’s main visitor center and proximity to the park’s south entrance. There are many more things to do with the family because of its proximity to Springdale. As an added bonus, the shuttle service that will take guests to the trails of your choice is a short walk away. While campsites can be reserved in the warmer months, they are first-come, first-served only throughout the colder seasons.

South Campground

South Campground is a good option for RV campers looking for a location close to Springdale and Zion National Park. You may park your rented RV right close to the south entrance of the national park, and every morning you’ll be greeted with stunning scenery. Guests can make appointments as far in advance as 14 days and they are operational from March to October.

Vehicles no more than 13 ft tall are permitted in the shaded areas. Long vehicles are welcome, however RVs longer than 50 ft must enter through the south gate. It’s perfect for campers looking to disconnect from civilization and reconnect with nature because the site has the essentials they need. This RV park does not have connections, but it does have drinking water and waste disposal areas. 

The Needles District Campground

The Needles Campground is one of the two campgrounds in Canyonlands National Park.In total, there are 29 campsites available, and three of them are designated as group sites. Some campsites are available for booking from spring through fall, but the vast majority are first come, first served.

Flush toilets, arched shelters, fire pits and picnic tables, are all provided. While visiting, have a great time doing crazy things like four-wheeling, biking, hiking, and boating. Through participating in these exciting pursuits, you will be able to take in the splendor of the park while having a good time.

Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA Holiday

Many RV and tent camping spots are available at the Koosharem RV Park. The park welcomes RVs and has full hookups at each site, in addition to RV rentals. Guests of the RV park can take advantage of the on-site showers, laundry facilities, restrooms, dump station, and accessibility to the nearby Paiute Trail.

The RV park is a bit unusual among campgrounds because, in addition to the usual facilities, it also features an antiques shop and a small cafe. There are a number of other parks and natural landmarks within driving distance of the park, such as Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Otter Creek State Park.

If you’re traveling through Utah in a campervan and want somewhere peaceful, safe, and unpretentious to park for the night, try staying at Bryce Canyon Sunset Campground. Open all year, this pet- and family-friendly RV park is conveniently located just across the highway from paths that lead to Inspiration and Sunset Point.

Available sites are basic no hook ups, on a first-come, first-served basis. Each of the loops has its own potable water outflow and a dump station is provided in the summer. You can take the public bus system or the campground’s shuttle to get to Bryce and the other local attractions; some of the campsites are even accessible to people with disabilities.

Timpooneke Campground

If you’re looking for a traditional camping trip, Timpooneke Campground is a great option. This campground is surrounded by beautiful meadows and mountain views, and there are many hiking paths for exploring the area. Visit the Timpanogos Cave for a one-of-a-kind experience. Tickets for the several ranger-led cave excursions offered each day should be paid in advance, preferably online.

There are 27 gravel RV sites, 20 single and 7 double. Each location is bookable and open to the public. Since it is located on the Alpine Scenic Loop, which is only accessible by Highway 92, it is important to be aware of any size limits that may apply to your vehicle. Vehicle length limits range from 15 feet to 30 feet.

Ledgefork Campground is where you want to be if you enjoy being in the wilderness and sleeping in tents. There are no amenities at this campground, but the surrounding Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is pristine and beautiful. Ledgefork Campground is known for the beautiful vistas it offers its guests.

All of the 67 individual sites and six pairs of sites provide sufficient shade from mature trees. Wildlife such as deer, elk, and moose are frequently sighted grazing in the area. If you leave the windows open, the sound of water flowing past can help you go off to sleep, too. The main drawback is that this area might become overcrowded very fast. As a result, you’ll need to put some thought into your journey beforehand.

When most people think of the American Southwest, they see Monument Valley. Located on the Arizona–Utah state line, Monument Valley is as remote as one can get in the contiguous United States. It’s a three-hour trip to Moab, Utah’s outdoor recreation mecca, and over five hours to Phoenix, the next major metropolis.

It’s possible that RVers won’t find as many amenities in Monument Valley KOA as they would at other locations of the same chain.
