Exploring Nevada

Las Vegas

Neon signs, casinos, and Elvis weddings,  Las Vegas reminds everyone of these. Yes, these things make the city shine. NASA says if you look at Earth from space, its world’s brightest spot.   Most people either love or hate the idea of visiting because of its reputation, but this surprising ray of light has something for everyone. The four-mile stretch down Vegas is unique.

The Strip, lined with some of the biggest hotels, is like a glamorous theme park . Take a gondola ride through Venice at The Venetian or see the Statue of Liberty in New York, New York.

The 30-story Luxor pyramid will transport you to  Ancient Egypt while the Paris Las Vegas Hotel café has an Eiffel Tower view. From the Bellagio’s Vegas’ sights and attractions are also jaw-dropping.

Las Vegas is a glitzy city. With 40 million visitors a year, the city is the entertainment and world’s gambling hub. Some of the largest casinos and nightclubs are there. Sunset Station Hotel and Casino is off the strip, but Wynn and Venetian are also popular for gambling.

If you like slot machines, head to the ARIA; if you’re not a gambler, try LEVEL UP, the MGM Grand gaming lounge. If you’d rather dance, you have plenty of options. Hakkasan is one of the world’s largest nightclubs, and Wynn’s XS Nightclub is extravagant.

The bars are just as good for a more intimate drink. Chandelier at the Cosmopolitan is luxurious. Order a cocktail under a two-million-crystal chandelier or relax at the chrome-and-mirror-tiled Vesper Bar. The Mandarin Oriental bar has stunning city views too. The city’s pool parties are wild. Rehab Beach Club at the Hard Rock Hotel started it all, but there are many others such as Wet Republic at MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay.

Things To Do In Las Vegas

But there’s more. Some of the world’s best musicians perform, so don’t miss Cirque du Soleil’s “O.” Vegas’ reputation reflects its rich history. Downtown is the city’s historic heart, where you’ll find the Golden Nugget, one of the city’s oldest casinos, the Neon Museum, and the Mob Museum. All are recommended. They show how far Las Vegas has come as the fastest-growing city in America.

If you want to see more natural beauty, Red Rock Canyon and the Grand Canyon’s south rim are nearby. You wouldn’t think of Vegas as a food destination, but it is. You can eat pizza, sushi, tacos, and steak. You can’t go to Vegas without having a steak. SW Steakhouse is one of three US restaurants serving Kobe beef. Vegas’ buffets were created to keep gamblers in the casinos by offering cheap food in large quantities. Baccanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace is one of more than 70 buffets.

Hash House a Go Go is famous for brunch..The city has the most restaurants run by celebrated chefs and is known for fine-dining. Chef of the Century – Joel Robuchon’s food at MGM Grand is a must-try. Thrill seekers will be busy. They can do sky Jump from the Stratosphere or ride the Canyon Ferris Wheel. Blaster at Circus Circus is the only indoor double loop, double corkscrew ride. Manhattan Express at NYNY and Desperado at Buffalo Bill’s are also around. Along the Strip and beyond, adventurers can go indoor skydive, mountain bike, and more. Sports fanatics can bet at Caesar’s Palace or golf at Bali Hai Golf Club.

Shop at Caesar’s Palace’s Forum shops or The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes. Crystals at CityCentre has luxury shopping, Fashion Show Mall has popular brands, and Las Vegas North Premium Outlets has discounts.

Vegas has world-class spas. Pamper yourself with a simultaneous massage at Encore, a gemstone facial at ARIA, or 24-carat gold skin treatment at Qua Baths & Spa.

It’s said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and whether you get into mischief or not, there’s always at least one thing. Despite its reputation, Vegas isn’t just for late-night partygoers. It’s fun for the whole family. Kids will love Circus Circus’ Adventure Dome Theme Park and High Roller Observation Wheel.

Fremont Street zipline is extra-special. See the Viva vision light and music show through the indoor mall. Shark Reef Aquarium and Siegfried & Roy’s  Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat are animal-friendly. Bellagio’s Botanical Gardens and Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings offer kid-friendly entertainment.
