It’s simple to see why New Mexico is called “The Land of Enchantment”; the state has beautiful landscapes and some of the best sunsets in the country. RV parks in New Mexico are essential due to the large number of tourists who visit the state each year.

You certainly have the option of booking a hotel room, but you might also rent a house or an apartment. Nevertheless, New Mexico is so beautiful that there is something special about traveling in an RV and getting to know the desert wildlife up close and personal. As an added bonus, staying in your RV will save you money on lodging, allowing you to potentially extend your trip.

Location-wise, Santa Fe Skies couldn’t be better for seeing the city. The park’s location makes it easy to see all that Santa Fe offers. Leaving the freeway and entering the park was a breeze. Overall, the park was spotless, the maintenance was impeccable, and the staff was more than helpful.

A walking route and dog park may be found around the RV park. There is no cable TV, but Wi-Fi is free. Hiking trails abound, and there are 98 campsites total, 55 of which are pull-throughs and 43 of which require you to back in. There is water and 20/30/50 amp service at each site. Sewers are present in all but one of the locations.

Silver City RV Park

Just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, you’ll find High Desert RV Park, a tranquil park with a great reputation. Due to its close proximity to Interstate 40, many visitors tend to only stop here for the night, but you should definitely plan on spending more time here. If you’d like to give it a try at blackjack or the slots, you may find casinos in the area.

Spread out over nine acres, with paved roads connecting each parking spot, are 75 full hookup sites. Dog parks, laundry facilities and two showers may be found on the premises. There is a recreation room on the premises with cable TV, pool tables, and free wireless Internet access for guests’ use. Take heed, parents: there is neither playground nor cable, unfortunately.

This is the best campground in Gallup, New Mexico, and it’s right on old Route 66. Park visitors will find a wealth of historic sites, as well as national and tribal parks, in the immediate vicinity. The property is just a short drive from Bonito Lake and approximately twenty minutes from Capitan, New Mexico. Lincoln, a town rich in American history, is also close by. Lincoln was where Billy the Kid made his final escape. The town of Ruidoso, not far from Stone Mountain Resort, is home to a casino, fishing holes, zip lines, shops, a golf course, and numerous restaurants.

Sunsets from here are stunning due to the backdrop of the Sandia Mountains. Discounted daily prices start at $46, and longer stays of one week or more are also available. There are 85 asphalt sites, free Wi-Fi, plus a pool and jacuzzi at this campground. Those in need of RV or self-storage facilities will be pleased to learn that both are accessible here.

Road Runner RV Resort

Incredibly frequented by campers from all around, Red River, New Mexico is home to a stunning campground. The park is situated along the Red River, and some of the best campsites are located right on the river itself. We appreciated that the resort catered to families. There are campsites specifically for adults if you don’t want to camp with kids.

You can only visit this resort between the beginning of May and the middle of October. Internet access and cable TV are both free bonuses. All campsites are gravel, and cell reception is strong. Premium locations by the river are available. 120 RV spaces are available with both 30 and 50 amp service. Guests can choose between pull-through and back-in parking spots. Both basic and deluxe registration options are provided.

Only 15 sites, but a wonderful tiny town west of Roswell. As a whole, the park was spotless, and the proprietors were friendly. The camping areas are gravel and uniform in level. Staying at Red Barn RV Park puts you in close proximity to all that Roswell has to offer. 

Located only 2.5 miles from the heart of town, this pleasant park has a wide variety of convenient services, including cable TV, a book exchange, a game room, showers, clean restrooms, and laundry facilities. There are many places to eat and buy in Roswell that have an extraterrestrial theme, and the city even has a museum dedicated to the subject..

Route 66 RV Resort

Route 66 RV Resort is well regarded as a great place to stay, and for good reason. The park is situated on the famous Route 66 and is close to all the exciting attractions that Albuquerque has to offer, as the name would suggest.

This park has something for everyone, so you’ll never be bored. There are a lot of great conveniences in the campground itself. A dog kennel, a fitness facility, a manicure salon, and a game room are all on the list of amenities. This campground boasts that “no rig is too big” to fit into its spacious spaces.

The Arbor RV Park is located in the North Valley neighborhood of the city, providing guests with easy access to the city’s many attractions, including the airport, museums, hospitals, trails, and the historic district. The Las Vegas New Mexico KOA could be a great option if you’re thinking about reserving an RV to travel around San Miguel County. Check out RV rentals in Sandoval County and book a spot at the friendly Albuquerque North/Bernalillo KOA if you want to park near Albuquerque and be close to a number of golf courses, as well as have a great view of Sandia Peak. You may catch the Rail Runner Train from this RV park to downtown Albuquerque, as well as Santa Fe and Belen. Hop on the shuttle to the local casino, or stay close by for a meal and a few beers at the brewery.

There are full hookups with up to 50amp service and water or electric spaces with up to 30amp connection, some of which are wheelchair-accessible. Which can accommodate RVs up to 100 feet in length. Sandia Mountain Forest is home to the Turquoise Trail Campgrounds, which are just a couple of miles from Albuquerque’s vibrant city center and the famous Turquoise Trail. They include RV hookups, cabins, and tent sites in a mountain grassy field in the middle of Sandia’s undeveloped wilderness.

There are both back-in with water/electric sites and full-hookup, pull-through sites that provide 50/30/20 amps of power. For the comfort and safety of its tent guests, the RV resort maintains a separate area from the tent camping areas. Tucumcari KOA is the perfect campground for those who are driving throughout the Great Plains to eastern New Mexico in a rented RV so that they can take in the region’s natural wonders. You may cool off in the seasonal pool and grab a bite to eat at the café. There is Wi-Fi, cable TV, laundry room and gas refill.

There are a variety of places to stay at Tucumcari KOA. All the amenities of home are at your disposal when you bring your rented campervan here, including patios and 50/30/20-amp service. In addition to tent sites, the Tucumcari KOA also has cabins for campers. Camping sites are available with full connections, partial hookups, or none at all for those who choose to rough it.

Visit the Gila National Forest’s International Dark Sky Sanctuary for breathtaking, unrestricted views of the night sky in all directions. Located more than 40mi from the nearest supply of major artificial light, the Cosmic Campground has guidelines in place to ensure that everyone has a pleasant time stargazing.

Please remember that Cosmic Campground is just a basic campground with few facilities. There are only six RV sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, but those who want to take the phrase “sleeping beneath the stars” to the next level will find it well worth the effort.

If your RV is 80ft or less, you can probably find a spot here with all the amenities you require. Water and sewage hookups are accessible, and sites offer 20/30, or 30/50amp service. You can freshen yourself after a day with access to a laundry room and a hot shower.

Seasonal swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, playground, mini golf, horseshoes, and bike rentals are just some of the ways to unwind and have fun during your stay. The campsite provides Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a shop has everything you need, including propane and firewood, so you won’t have to stop anywhere else.

Mujeres Valley Campground

For nearly a century, the land surrounding the Mujeres Valley Campground in Cibola County was illegally withheld from Indigenous people. Today, the 20-acre site serves as a BIPOC safe-space. The campground was designed to last and to minimize its impact on the environment.

There are 20 campsites and dry camping only.The grounds feature open areas, private areas, and public areas connected by pathways delineated by volcanic rocks and ancient trees. In this secluded neighborhood, you may pitch a tent or park a small camper and go for a hike without ever having to leave the area.

Just a short distance from historic Route 66 in northeastern New Mexico lies the Grants/Cibola Sands KOA. Anyone taking a cross-country road journey would benefit from staying here because it is both easy to access and offers high standards of comfort. 

This campground gives guests a glimpse of the natural splendor of New Mexico with its wide open spaces and interesting topography. With sites that can accommodate RVs up to 85 feet in length, Grants KOA is a great place to park a big rig and relax for the night. Connectivity to a 50-amp power source is provided, and both cable television and Wi-Fi are available for your viewing and surfing pleasure.

Manzanos RV Park

The Manzanos RV Park is a quaint and lovely spot. You will really appreciate the sense of seclusion afforded by the bushes that separated each tent site. Everyone working there is extremely nice and willing to assist visitors. WI-FI and TV are provided at no cost, and there are also showers and a laundry room, as well as a weekly Saturday night barbecue.

Abundant flat ground and graveled sites. There is a fire pit, a patio, and swing set in the luxury site we were at. There is also a more upscale option with a roofed terrace. Each site has both 30 and 50amp hookups for your convenience. There are around 25 back-in and pull-through campsites. Stays must consist of at least 2 nights.

Ponil Camp Grounds

Ponil Campgrounds are situated on the Sangre de Cristo Mountains’ foothills, providing visitors with a true “out in the country” camping experience complete with tall trees, a babbling brook, and even the occasional wild turkey or deer. 

As long as pets are kept on leashes at all times, they won’t bother the native species at the campground. While you may feel isolated from society, Cimarron offers full hookup and a sewer dump for motorhome campers. Wi-Fi and satellite TV are available, fire pit, picnic table, showers and washing machines, you may find yourself wanting to extend your stay.

Prepare to spend the night beneath the clear skies of New Mexico’s first dark sky park. One of the largest collections of dinosaur tracks in North America may be seen at this park, providing an exciting peek into New Mexico’s prehistoric past. Camping in your motorhome in the beautiful and diverse landscapes of northern New Mexico is really an unforgettable experience.  Access to the remainder of the state is simple because of the intersection of Interstates 40 and 25; a number of the state’s most popular tourist destinations are within an hour’s drive.

In terms of serenity and proximity to Albuquerque’s conveniences, Coronado Campground is hard to match. There are water/electrical hookups at each site, as well as a common dump station for emptying the tanks of your rented RV. Volleyball courts, hiking trails, and the nearby river provide recreational opportunities.

City of Rocks State Park

The City of Rocks is a strange environment of massive geologic structures, formed million years ago as a result of a major volcanic eruption and slow erosion. The park occupies an area of one square mile in the Chihuahuan Desert and consists of massive rock skyscrapers.

The park is also dark sky site, so after a day of exploring the trails, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and birding, you can pitch up a tent and relax in the cold desert air under the amazing night sky. RV sites with electrical hookups are offered on a first-come, first-served basis at City of Rocks State Park.

Family Camp Kirtland AFB RV Park

This campsite is one of the more cost-effective options for either full hookups or dry/tent camping. There is no reservation system for this campground; guests can arrive whenever they like, and their dogs are welcome with some restrictions. Laundry facilities, restrooms, baths, a propane filling station, and locally resold goods can all be found in the office. Only 180 days per stay at this campground per year.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park

RV campers seeking a more secluded and authentic experience will like Chaco Canyon. Chaco Canyon is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also an International Dark Sky Park, so after a day of visiting it, you may spend the night gazing at the stars.

Gallo Campground is a lovely, rough campground located just a mile east of  Visitor Center, and it is surrounded by inscriptions, petroglyphs, and cliff dwellings. Campground guests can choose one of four RV sites, each of which can accommodate a vehicle up to 35ft long. If you want to secure one of the few RV sites, you’d better come prepared. There are no services, such as connections, gasoline, vehicle maintenance, food, ice, or amenities.

Camp Washington Ranch

Camp Washington Ranch is the perfect spot for those who plan to spend most of their time in an RV and are in need of a more rural setting. Over four thousand acres are available for your use. They also provide picturesque settings for special events like weddings.

Take in the picturesque lake and observe the local wildlife.  From one of Camp Washington Ranch, you can view the Carlsbad Caverns’ entrance. You should see this southeastern New Mexico beauty; you will probably fall in love with it. There is reasonably priced RV camping, as well as cabins for those who want more traditional accommodations.

Ghost Ranch

Activities like horseback riding, hiking, and kayaking can be enjoyed on Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu’s stunning landscapes, which feature colorful cliffs, wide skies, and amazing views. Relax by the campfire in the desert after a day of seeing the stunning landscape that inspired Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings. Most campsites at Ghost Ranch’s campground are equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, and the campground welcomes RVs. Full hookup spots are extremely limited in number and are given out on a first come, first serve basis.

Homestead RV Park is a great spot for individuals in need of a warm and welcoming place to stay. The park’s proximity to Four Corners is a major selling point, and the vast expanse of BLM territory to the north is ideal for adventurers. The park offers 50 parking spots. Some of the sites are 65ft long and all of them have full hookups. Wi-Fi can be used and tables at the campsites. A laundry facility, showers and dog park,  are among the additional facilities.

Taos Montebello RV Park

There are only 19 spots available at this secluded RV park behind gates. There is a lot of space, and the scenery of the mountains is spectacular. The park is located only a short distance from Taos’s busy downtown district, making it convenient for day trips. The owners are super nice and accommodating.

Accessible to all RV sizes. Wi-Fi, 30/50-amp power, and sewer hookups are all available at this campground. There is a nearby dump station for the three sites that don’t have sewer. You may easily park your RV at any of the sites because they are all pull-through, flat, and covered with gravel. An off-leash dog walking area, a corner store, and a laundry room are all available.

Alamogordo / White Sands KOA Journey

Located in the heart of Alamogordo, New Mexico. The campground was exceptionally tidy and well-maintained. All of the staff members are friendly and accommodating. Even better than the room is the pool. 

You will have a wonderful time here, and the location couldn’t have been better for seeing White Sands and the surrounding area. WIFI is free, and cable can be added for an additional fee. A decent signal might be received on one’s cell phone. Each campsite has full utilities and is on a flat surface. 

Little Vineyard RV Resort

This park is ideal for visiting the nearby Rockhound State Park, City of Rocks, and Gila Cliff Dwellings, all of which are sites of natural and historical interest. Hiking, birdwatching, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities may all be found in the area. 

In addition to a wide variety of organized activities, the park features a number of sites with full hookups. Indoors, you’ll find a game room and a recreation hall, and outdoors, your group may enjoy the swimming pool, hot tub, and playground.

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park

Newly renovated, Oliver Lee Campground features everything from electrical/water hookups to dump stations for all your waste disposal needs. The park has excellent services for a State Park, including restrooms, showers, and even a laundry area. 

If you’re visiting the park with a large party, you can take advantage of the pavilions and shelters provided. White Sands National Monument, with its stunningly white sands, dunes, and native wildlife, is the top attraction in the area. Of course, you may also go hiking on some fantastic routes in the Oliver Lee area. 

Bottomless Lake State Park

There are only 32 campsites in the campground, but they all have access to running water and power, and six of them also have sewer connections. Ten extra tent-friendly campsites can be found in a more compact park. 

Not only is Bottomless Lake a great site to park your RV for the night, but it’s also great for fishing, swimming, and boating without the need of motors. It’s also only a 15-mile drive from Roswell, well known as the site of the 1947 UFO Incident.
