Great Plains, soaring Sandhills dunes, one-of-a-kind resorts, and stunning panhandle rock formations may all be found in Nebraska. The city of Lincoln serves as the state capital and is a bustling college town with a beautiful statehouse.

The Durham Museum, the Great Platte River Road Archway in Kearny, and the G.W. Frank Museum of History and Culture are just a few of the unique, living museums that showcase Nebraska’s rich pioneer past.

Visit Victorian Acres RV Park in Nebraska City for a peaceful camping trip. There are more than 90 RV sites with full hookups, Wi-Fi, and access to a bathhouse and showers on the property’s 26 acres, and the owners are really kind. You’ll feel perfectly at home in Victorian Acres because of the meticulous upkeep of the grounds and the welcoming atmosphere they create.

There’s plenty of room to stretch out and relax in this park, not far from Nebraska City. If you’re looking to get some exercise and some fresh air, the park has a great walking route. Your kids and pets can safely burn off some steam at separate play areas designed specifically for them. Firewood and propane are available for purchase, for your comfort and convenience. Kearney, a little town in the middle of Nebraska’s plains, is home to a campground known as the Kearney RV Park and Campground. Located on the banks of the Platte River, Kearney is about two-hour drive from Lincoln. A full-service campsite, this is among the few options for RVers in the region.

The campground is available all year and provides easy access to the town and its numerous points of interest. The park’s 100-foot-long sites can accommodate RVs of any length. Far to the north of Interstate 80 is where you’ll find Robidoux RV Park. It has a spacious 15-acre plot near the Scottsbluff National Monument. All 42 campsites have concrete patios with picnic tables, as well as access to utilities like electricity, sewer, water, cable, and Wi-Fi.

Some beautiful sandstone cliffs, the Niobrara River, and the gushing Smith Falls cascade are all within driving distance of this RV park. The park features 100 pull-through locations, 4 of which are suitable for use with slides and wall slides. Large, mostly-shaded, full-service RV sites are available. The Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins are located midway Kearney and Lincoln on Interstate 80. Every single camping spot has full hookups and is a pull-through. The majority of the sites feature picnic tables and fire pits, and full hookups are available at the 50-amp electric sites and all except five of the 30-amp electric sites.

If you are staying at a campground that merely has electricity and water, don’t worry; there is a dump station on site. A paddleboats, fishing lake, restrooms, showers, underground storm shelter and a laundry room, are just some of the features that guests can enjoy during their stay. The dog-friendly park features horseshoe and sand volleyball court.

Ashland RV Campground

Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing is a pet-friendly campground in the Bayard, Nebraska area. The campground has beautiful scenery of Chimney Rock and is positioned near several major attractions. From the campground, hikers can take routes that wind through gorges and ravines to reach the foot of the famous rock.

The campsite is not only in a good spot, but it also has all the amenities you could want, such as clean bathrooms, dump station, hot showers, and full connections at each site. The campground may be lacking in facilities, but it is conveniently located near many of the area’s best sights.

While there aren’t a lot of things to do at this RV park, guests can enjoy beautiful scenery, quiet, and seclusion. Families can appreciate the calm quality time that they can spend together, the serene scenery of this campground will prove to be a welcome respite for all. If you’re looking for a memento to take home with you, there’s a tiny antique shop within the campground that the kids may enjoy.

Renting an RV in Lincoln County is the best way to receive the full vacation experience, including downtime, adrenaline-pumping activities, and a charming tiny town. Boats and kayaks are available for rent near the exclusive lake, where you may enjoy a quiet day of fishing. Not only can you go for a swim, but you can also use the hiking trail and play some volleyball or horseshoes.

Light up a fire in one of the provided fire pits and head over to the RV park’s convenience store, where you can pick up some grub and a cold one, as well as fishing gear and other camping necessities. You’ll find all the comforts of home at the I-80 Lakeside Campground, including hot showers, washers and dryers, a dump station, and 50 or 30-amp electrical hookups.

This place is great for families because it allows children to bring dogs and has a playground.

A pet- and wheelchair-accessible RV park that also welcomes families. a tranquil spot to cast a line in the river and maybe catch a glimpse of a beaver or rabbit. At this campground near Gothenburg, you can choose between playing volleyball or doing laundry, or having a great time on the playground and in the pool.

There is 30/50 amp service available for your camper rental, and you can fuel it with whatever you find at the local British Goods shop, so stock up on tea and biscuits. To ensure you’re truly hungry, take a stroll along the on-site trek before firing up the grill or gathering around the fire pit.

Mormon Island State Recreation Area

The southern Nebraska recreation area known as Mormon Island earned its name because it was formerly a winter layover for Mormon emigrants on their way to the West. The camping and recreation area is open all year and is a part of the beautiful and unusual “Chain of Lakes” in Nebraska.

Though you’ll be surrounded by the outdoors no matter where you go, the campground has all the amenities you’d need, like flush toilets, electricity, a shower house, and a laundry. Boating, fishing, stargazing, picnics, hiking, and swimming are just some of the many enjoyable activities that may be performed right on the premises. 

Chautauqua Park Campground

The campground is conveniently located among the town’s main attractions, including shops and museums, just on banks of Big Blue River. Both Lincoln and Omaha can be reached in under two hours from the RV park, and both are only an hour-drive to the north. Reserve a recreational vehicle in Gage County, Nebraska and travel freely around the state’s beautiful landscapes and popular tourist destinations.

This RV park is perfect for families because it has three playgrounds, and sports courts all within walking distance. There is also plenty of space to run about in, as well as horseshoe pits and a disc golf course. If you’d rather spend your time outdoors, you may go fishing in the river or hit the trails for some mountain biking. Picnic tables, full hookups, fire pits, bathrooms, and showers are all provided at this campground in the woods.

Riverside Park Campground

Riverside Park Campground in Neligh, Nebraska, is a great example of the adage that “simple is best” when it comes to camping. Sites in this RV park are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and each one features a concrete pad, running water, power outlets, dump station and Wi-Fi.

The Riverside Park Campground has both rustic RV camping (no hookups) and tent camping options. Due to the campground’s location, swimming and tubing on the ElkHorn River are available on demand. When you’re all unpacked, head into Neligh for a stroll through the historic downtown area.

Nebraska Tailwaters Campground & Day-Use Area

There are 42 campsites available at Nebraska Tailwaters Campground, which is located on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River downstream from Gavins Point Dam and Lewis & Clark Lake. Of these sites, 31 have electrical hookups, 11 do not, and the remaining sites are designated for tents only.

Picnic shelters, barbecue grills, and even vault toilets are all available. River frontage with fishing, a fish cleaning facility, boat ramp, and dump station are just some of the amenities at this campground. Activities like mountain biking, hiking, sailing, swimming, bird viewing, and seasonal hunting are all available around the lake.

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park

Since it is situated between the two cities of Lincoln and Omaha, campers can easily visit Omaha to see the latter’s historic attractions and world-famous conservation zoo with aquarium. Campers in the summer take advantage of the park’s water slides, fishing pond, swimming pool, and paddle boats. In the colder months, ice skating and sledding transform the park into a must-see for visitors.

Branched Oak State Recreation Area

Louisville State Recreation Area

Cass County’s beautiful Louisville State Recreation Area spans 192 acres and is located on south bank of the Platte River. It is home to five sandpit lakes, one of which is open for swimming. Campground is open all year and has a great RV complex among the towering cottonwood trees.

There are 223 campsites available, each with its own electrical and water connections, fire rings, picnic tables, flush toilets, and hot showers, as well as a playground for kids. There is also a dump station and a total of 75 undesignated primitive sites in addition to the 13 all-weather pads that do not have electricity. Hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and fishing are just a few of the recreational pursuits available in the region.

Windmill State Park

The Windmill State Recreation Area is managed by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and is located midway Grand Island and Kearney at the Gibbon Interchange in the distinctive “chain of lakes.” The 154-acre site known as Windmill Crossing features six ponds, picnicking, basic tent camping and a swimming beach. 

The park, which was once a rest point for pioneers, now boasts numerous artificial lakes perfect for a wide variety of water sports, as well as modern camping amenities complete with electricity hookups, flush toilets, and hot showers, as well as picnic tables and fire pits. 

Lake Minatare State Recreation Area

The beautiful Lake Minatare State Recreation Area includes Nebraska’s sole lighthouse and a 2,970 acre park that serves as a federal waterfowl refuge. Over a hundred sites without pads are also available, and the campground has contemporary restrooms with running water, vault toilets and showers, picnic tables, laundry facilities, and shelters, fire pits, and more. Activities in the park and the lake include hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing, unsupervised swimming, and kayaking. Also has fish cleaning stations and boat ramps.

Red Cloud Campground

Red Cloud Campground is a small campground just a mile down from Chadron State Park in the scenic Pine Ridge area, featuring 13 sites that include parking spots, pedestal grills, picnic tables, and vault toilets. Campers will have to bring their own supplies of drinking water as there is none available at the site. 

Campers will appreciate the proximity to Pine Ridge Trail system, which includes the Strong Canyon and Outrider mountain biking trails and winds through breathtaking grasslands, canyons, and Ponderosa Pine woods, and a historic mining region. Camping, hiking, geocaching, wildlife and bird watching are just a few of the activities that may be enjoyed here.

Two Rivers State Recreation Area

The Two Rivers State Recreation Area is a 622-acre park to the southwest of Venice that features seven ponds totaling 320 acres right on the banks of the Platte River. Camping is available in ten seasonal camper cabins, and other outdoor pursuits including fishing, boating, swimming, and picnics are all available at this dense leisure area. 

There are seven distinct camping areas, each with its own set of 209 cushioned sites suitable for tents, and RVs; each site also features a picnic table, fire ring, and electrical and water hookups; and a contemporary bathroom facility with a shower, flush toilets, and potable water. For those seeking a bit more luxury, eleven bright red cabooses have been renovated and furnished with patios, picnic tables, and grills.

Chadron State Park

Campers will find the tall pines of a Nebraska National Forest, the rolling hills, and the breathtaking vistas of the Pine Ridge area to be the perfect place to relax and unwind. Hike through the majestic hardwood forest and up the hills for breathtaking views of the water, which also offers some of the best fishing in the area. If fishing isn’t your thing, the historic riverside settlement of St. Deroin is worth a visit for its demonstrations of even more ancient techniques.

Indian Cave Campground has all the essentials for a pleasant RV camping trip, including  hot showers, clean bathrooms, and a dump station. There is drinking water and 30/50 amp electrical hookups at the campsites. There are also some enjoyable things to do.

Platte River State Park

About two miles to the west of Louisville, on the Platte River’s southern cliffs, is the Platte River State Park, a state park and public leisure area. Halfway from Omaha and Lincoln, this park features 519 acres of forest, steeply hilly landscapes and a wide range of amenities, including air-conditioned and heated overnight cabins, picnic tables, fire pits, and central shower and toilet facilities. Hiking, swimming, mountain biking, fishing, and pleasure boating are just some of the things that may be done, and teepees with wooden flooring and creature comforts are available for rent.

Riverside Campground

Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area

On the banks of Lake Ogallala, sometimes known as “little lake” due to its diminutive size in comparison to other bodies of water, is where you’ll find Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area. The 320-acre lake is popular with anglers for its abundance of trout and its calm waters, which make it ideal for swimming, canoeing, and picnicking.

There are 82 electric and water-hookup campsites at Lake Ogallala East Campground, as well as vault toilets, potable water, fire pits, and flush toilets. There are rustic campsites on the western shore of the lake, as well as portable toilets and fresh, drinkable water at several spots around the area.

Niobrara State Park

Located in northeast Nebraska near the junction of the Missouri and Niobrara rivers lies Niobrara State Park, a public leisure area and state park. Coyotes, white-tailed deer and  wild turkeys, are just a few of the animals that may be found in Niobrara State Park, which also features the Niobrara River Bridge. 

The park features a swimming pool and camping with tent sites and cabins. Miles of treks in addition to a visitor’s recreational center with historical information about the area. Camping sites for tents and RVs are available at Niobrara State Park. Pawnee State Recreation Area

Over 1,800 acres of land plus 740 acres of water make up Pawnee State Recreation Area in Nebraska, which is located near the second biggest lake in the Salt Valley and features a wide variety of indoor and outdoor recreational options.

Campers can take advantage of the area’s electricity hookups, clean facilities and showers, four docks for easily accessible to the lake, and convenient location to the northwest of Emerald. Bluegill, largemouth and white bass, catfish, and walleye are just some of the fish that can be found in the lake, and the surrounding area is also home to a wide variety of small game, ducks, and deer.

Oasis in the Sand Hills, Victoria Springs State Recreation Area was established in 1925 and is known for its mineral springs and medicinal waters. The remote and beautiful location was just a short distance from Anselmo and Merna.

It featured 60 non-padded campsites with 21 electric hookups, modern and clean restrooms with showers, drinkable water, picnic tables, and a dump station. Hiking, mountain biking, boating, and fishing at Victoria Springs pond are just some of the activities available in the region, along with two rustic cabins equipped with kitchens and comfy furnishings.
